About the Role
The Area Sales Director position at Ambry Genetics is a critical role that involves leading and managing a team of Account Executives to drive sales revenue growth for the company's genetic diagnostic testing services. What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 Account Executives and Senior Account Executives to achieve sales goals
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies for Account Executives
- Provide leadership and coaching to your team through effective communication, vision, and active development
- Conduct field visits and observations to provide supervision and support to your team
- Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies
- Manage sales territory, including national expansion in major metropolitan areas
- Expand menu utilization in existing accounts and sell genetic diagnostic testing services to new customers
- Negotiate and manage contracts with customers
- Introduce new testing products and develop customer-specific action plans
- Develop and deliver presentations to customers and industry stakeholders
- Host and assist with trade shows to promote Ambry Genetics' services
- Manage customer data in the company database
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's of Science Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience selling laboratory services to clinicians and hospitals
- 7+ years of prior managerial experience in sales
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications
- Skilled using CRM applications such as Salesforce.com or Microsoft CRM
- Strong track record of sales success selling a broad portfolio of laboratory testing to different medical specialties
- Ability to sell technically complex products
- Expertise with demand creation in a large geography
- Experience with customer base within the territory is a plus
- Strengths in networking and relationship development
- Strong oral and written communications skills
Nice to Have
- Formal sales training experience such as SPIN Selling or PSS
- Experience with Adjust and other sales analytics tools
- Knowledge of the genetic testing industry and current trends
