About the Role

The Art Director position at Go Fish Digital represents a unique opportunity to lead the design direction for a set of prestigious search and social clients. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for translating client goals into clear creative hypotheses and lightweight prototypes, driving the development of ads that can be tested and iterated quickly.

In this role, you will be working closely with the account and media teams to ensure that all design elements align with client KPIs, budgets, and testing agendas. Your expertise in maintaining prompt libraries, guardrails, and quality assurance standards will be crucial in delivering high-quality results.

The Art Director will also be leading a small production bench, managing freelancers, and overseeing the creation of both AI-generated and traditional assets. This will involve scoping work, providing actionable feedback, and ensuring that timelines and budgets are met.

What You Will Do

  • Translate client goals into clear creative hypotheses and lightweight prototypes
  • Develop ads that can be tested and iterated quickly
  • Lead the creation of both AI-generated and traditional assets, including static, motion, and short-form video
  • Maintain prompt libraries, guardrails, and quality assurance standards
  • Partner with account and media teams on KPIs, budgets, and testing agendas
  • Integrate brand and performance insights back into each client’s creative system
  • Manage a small group of freelancers, including scoping work, giving actionable feedback, and keeping timelines and budgets on track
  • Identify efficiency improvements, such as reducing handoffs, improving templates, and strengthening naming and metadata systems
  • Spot opportunities for automation, such as batching, scripts, and export workflows, that improve speed without sacrificing quality
  • Maintain a steady testing cadence with Search and Social teams
  • Review performance results with the team and determine what to scale or retire
  • Monitor overall creative effectiveness and the resources required to achieve it

What We Are Looking For

  • 2–3+ years of experience in art direction with a portfolio that demonstrates the ability to move KPIs
  • Hands-on comfort with generative AI tools, including image, video, and copy, and thoughtful promptcraft
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe CC, with experience building and maintaining design systems
  • Familiarity with platform specs and constraints across Meta, TikTok, Google, YouTube, and programmatic
  • Experience managing freelancers or a small production team
  • Fluency in growth metrics and creative testing
  • Strong understanding of brand and performance insights
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Branding experience, with a portfolio that showcases the ability to develop and implement brand identities
  • Automation or scripting chops, with experience in improving workflow efficiency
  • Motion/video workflow experience, with a deep understanding of video production and editing
