About the Role
The Asset Protection Specialist role at The Home Depot Canada is a critical position that requires a unique blend of physical and digital security expertise. As a key member of the asset protection team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective security strategies to protect the company's assets, including inventory, property, and customer data. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and marketing, to identify and mitigate potential security risks.The role entails working closely with law enforcement agencies, conducting investigations, and analyzing data to identify trends and patterns that may indicate potential security threats. You will also be responsible for providing training and guidance to employees on security protocols and procedures, as well as conducting regular security audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

What You Will Do
- Develop and implement effective security strategies to protect company assets, including inventory, property, and customer data
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and marketing, to identify and mitigate potential security risks
- Conduct investigations and analyze data to identify trends and patterns that may indicate potential security threats
- Provide training and guidance to employees on security protocols and procedures
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute security incidents
- Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including security vendors and law enforcement agencies
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, and make recommendations for improving security protocols and procedures
- Analyze security incident data to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for mitigating future incidents
- Develop and implement security awareness training programs for employees
- Collaborate with the IT department to ensure that security protocols and procedures are integrated with technology systems
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in asset protection, security, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and procedures, including digital security threats and trends
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends and patterns
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience with security software and systems, including CCTV and access control systems
- Knowledge of Canadian security laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
- Certification in security management, such as the Certified Security Manager (CSM) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation
Nice to Have
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel or Tableau
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum
- Experience with security awareness training programs and employee education
- Certification in digital security, such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) designation
- Experience with cloud-based security systems and software
