Job Description

## About the Role The Assistant Program Director, Nursing plays a pivotal role in supporting the Program Director with administrative leadership for aspects of program operation. This involves implementing strategies to achieve goals, both locally and across the academic program, consistent with the goals and policies of the University and professional accreditation bodies. The role is critical in ensuring the academic program's success, fostering a culture of excellence, and promoting the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.

As a key member of the university's academic team, the Assistant Program Director, Nursing will work closely with the Program Director to support curriculum quality, competency-based assessment, accreditation compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and program evaluation activities. The role also involves supervising students of the program, dealing with student issues such as complaints, appeals, and misconduct, and participating in marketing activities and other activities as a representative of the University.

The successful candidate will be an experienced nursing professional with a strong background in education, administration, and leadership. They will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills, and be able to work independently with numerous projects/tasks with little or no supervision.

## What You Will Do - Implement strategies to achieve goals, both locally and across the academic program, consistent with the goals and policies of the University and professional accreditation bodies - Collect, prepare, and furnish outcome data and relevant information about the program as required by the University and professional accreditation bodies - Participate in the Program Director Council to contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures - Oversee and evaluate contributing faculty in areas related to the professional program - Collaborate with program leadership to support curriculum quality, competency-based assessment, accreditation compliance, continuous improvement initiatives, and program evaluation activities - Supervise students of the program, dealing with student issues such as complaints, appeals, and misconduct - Participate in marketing activities and other activities as a representative of the University - Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to the academic program - Assist with the evaluation and improvement of the program's curriculum and instructional methods - Foster a culture of academic excellence and promote the development of professional health care practitioners

## What We Are Looking For - Current unencumbered RN license and eligible for licensure in states required by the academic program - Earned doctoral degree in nursing, education, or related field (DNP, PhD, EdD, or equivalent) - Minimum of three years of graduate nursing education experience required; graduate nursing program administration experience preferred - Experience with curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation, including competency-based education and assessment strategies in advanced nursing education - Experience with program evaluation, outcomes assessment, and continuous quality improvement processes - Demonstrated experience with state, regional, and programmatic accreditation - Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills - Ability to work independently with numerous projects/tasks with little or no supervision - Ability to work in a team environment and promote collaboration

## Nice to Have - National APRN certification and licensure - Experience with online or distance education - Knowledge of educational technologies and learning management systems - Experience with accreditation processes and regulatory compliance
