About the Role

The Associate Account Manager position at Republic Services is a critical role that focuses on maintaining and expanding relationships with existing commercial and industrial customers. This entails proactively reaching out to clients, understanding their needs, and offering tailored solutions from Republic Services' suite of products. The role is central to driving business growth and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Day-to-day, the Associate Account Manager will engage in outbound and inbound calls, negotiating contracts, and identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell services. The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with regular updates to the Sales Manager, is essential.

Republic Services operates in a highly competitive market, and the Associate Account Manager must stay abreast of industry trends and competitor activity to ensure the company remains a leader in waste management services.

What You Will Do

  • Proactively maintain and retain existing customer relationships through regular communication.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of Republic Services' available services, pricing structures, and offerings.
  • Utilize Salesforce daily to schedule, document activities, and manage customer interactions.
  • Capture customer emails and minimize rate restrictions and customer credits.
  • Perform contractual re-signs with existing customers to extend relationships and increase profitability.
  • Respond to cancellation requests in line with the company's escalation policy.
  • Support company pricing initiatives through effective communication with customers.
  • Increase customer penetration by selling the full suite of Republic Services products.
  • Meet regularly with the Sales Manager to review progress, goals, and key customer relationships.

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 0-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet sales targets.
  • Knowledge of waste management industry practices (preferred but not required).
  • Familiarity with Adjust or similar analytics tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or a degree in a related field may be beneficial.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in the waste or transportation industry.
  • Certification in sales, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with customer retention strategies and upselling/cross-selling techniques.
