About the Role
As an Associate at Scissero, you will be working closely with the company's expert legal support team, combining human expertise with intelligent automation to deliver top-notch transactional law services to alternative asset managers and financing providers. Your day-to-day will involve drafting and negotiating M&A pipeline documents, counselling clients directly, and ensuring strict adherence to legal compliance and regulations. The role matters because it contributes directly to the transformation of how transactional law is delivered, leveraging AI to enhance efficiency and precision. What You Will Do
- Draft and negotiate M&A pipeline documents, including non-disclosure agreements, offer letters, and engagement letters.
- Counsel clients directly, providing valuable real-world legal experience.
- Monitor project timelines and communicate updates to clients, ensuring strong organizational control over legal workflows.
- Support the drafting, reviewing, and management of legal documentation for corporate transactions.
- Ensure strict adherence to legal compliance and regulations.
- Engage with the development team and employ legal technology tools to boost the efficiency and precision of legal services.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including alternative asset managers and financing providers, to provide expert legal support.
- Continuously update knowledge of legal developments and best practices in transactional law.
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes to enhance the delivery of legal services.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in law.
- Qualification to practice law in an applicable jurisdiction (not mandatory but preferred).
- Fluency in English, including the ability to explain legal concepts in English to non-lawyers.
- International legal experience (academic and/or professional).
- Experience as a transactional lawyer within an international corporate law/M&A setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical ability, and problem-solving acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team on a remote/global basis.
- Proficiency in Excel and other standard office software tools.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience advising alternative asset managers, private equity, or private credit/financing providers.
- Familiarity with legal technology tools, such as contract automation, AI-assisted drafting, or document review platforms.
- Experience working within a remote, globally distributed team across multiple time zones.
- Fluency in an additional language relevant to APAC markets.
