About the Role

The Associate Career Services Specialist - Hygiene role is an exciting opportunity to support the Dental Career Planning (DCP) program at Henry Schein. As a key member of the team, you will deliver non-clinical career education and one-on-one guidance to dental hygiene students and early-career hygienists. Your primary focus will be on expanding DCP's school partnerships into hygiene programs, increasing engagement on studentdentist.com, and strengthening the pipeline of future dental professionals.

The role requires a strong understanding of the dental hygiene career path and the hiring market, including wage pressure and talent scarcity trends. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to align hygiene school engagement with broader Direct Dental and recruiting initiatives. Your expertise in Excel will be essential in tracking activity and outcomes, as well as analyzing data to support program growth goals.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver hygiene-focused career education covering resume/CV development, interviewing, and the business side of dentistry for emerging professionals
  • Educate students on compensation basics and early career decision-making, including how to evaluate opportunities and understand contract fundamentals
  • Provide one-on-one career planning via office hours and scheduled appointments, supporting students from preparation through first-job decisions
  • Build and maintain relationships with dental hygiene programs to schedule seminars, workshops, and office hours
  • Coordinate campus visit planning, event logistics, and follow-ups with program leaders and student groups
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to align hygiene school engagement with broader Direct Dental and recruiting initiatives
  • Drive student participation and content engagement on studentdentist.com as the DCP portal for students
  • Support mentorship opportunity promotion and matching, helping practices showcase mentorship as a differentiator for harder-to-fill markets
  • Collect and triage student submissions, including resumes, questions, and career preferences, and ensure timely coaching follow-up

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-4 years of experience in recruiting, career services, or workforce development, ideally in healthcare or dental
  • Strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Communication and prioritization skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Coaching and facilitation skills, with comfort leading seminars and one-on-one advising
  • Working knowledge of dental hygiene career paths and the hiring market
  • Good understanding of industry practices and proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures
  • Basic planning and organizational skills, with good decision-making, analysis, and problem-solving abilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with good presentation and public speaking skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and basic conflict resolution skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AS400, Product Information Management systems, such as Informatica 360, and JD Edwards
  • Knowledge of dental hygiene programs and curriculum
  • Familiarity with studentdentist.com and mentorship marketplaces
  • Experience working with dental hygiene students or early-career hygienists
