About the Role
The Associate Content Manager will play a crucial role in the seamless and high-quality production of academic journals. As part of the journals production team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end publication process, from manuscript acceptance to final publication. This will involve collaborating with authors, editors, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of high-quality content.The journals production team is a dynamic and collaborative group that is dedicated to upholding Sage's reputation for publishing high-quality scholarly content. As an Associate Content Manager, you will be an integral part of this team, working closely with other departments such as IT, Production Operations, and Editorial to ensure the smooth and efficient publication of academic journals.
What You Will Do
- Manage the publication process for a portfolio of academic journals, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of high-quality content
- Collaborate with authors, editors, and other internal stakeholders to resolve queries and issues
- Coordinate with external vendors for typesetting, printing, and other production services
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including authors, editors, and vendors
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Ensure compliance with metadata standards and other relevant industry requirements
- Analyze and resolve problems that arise during the publication process
- Develop and maintain knowledge of academic publishing industry trends and developments
What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable experience as a Production Editor or equivalent
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competency in MS Office applications, including Excel
- Ability to adapt to and thrive in a constantly changing work environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience working with academic journals or other scholarly content
- Knowledge of metadata standards relevant to academic publishing
