About the Role

The Associate Director, IT Infrastructure Operations and Process Improvement is a key leadership role at Humana, responsible for overseeing the company's IT infrastructure and driving process improvement initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of IT operations and the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers. As a member of the IT leadership team, the Associate Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain standardized, resilient, and automated solutions.

The role entails developing and implementing IT infrastructure strategies, governing IT operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Associate Director will also lead the adoption of AI and automation technologies to drive predictive insights, automated remediation, and intelligent observability. With a focus on operational excellence, the Associate Director will foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive proactive monitoring and operational readiness.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement IT infrastructure strategies to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency
  • Govern IT operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and PHI
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain standardized, resilient, and automated solutions
  • Lead the adoption of AI and automation technologies to drive predictive insights and automated remediation
  • Develop and implement ITIL/ITSM frameworks for Incident, Problem, Change, Event, Access, and Knowledge Management
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive proactive monitoring and operational readiness
  • Identify, standardize, and automate suitable processes in collaboration with platform engineering teams
  • Partner with Engineering and DevOps teams to integrate GenAI, automation, and self-healing capabilities into the operational model
  • Lead research, evaluation, and deployment of AI and GenAI technologies, including developing and executing an AI adoption roadmap
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and service providers to drive improvements in operational performance and cost efficiency

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure operations and process improvement
  • Strong understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks and experience with automation tools
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and customers
  • Experience with AI and automation technologies, including predictive analytics and intelligent observability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive proactive monitoring and operational readiness
  • Experience with governance and oversight, including ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and operations, including experience with Windows, AIX/Linux, Storage & Backup, Print Services, and Citrix
  • Experience with collaboration and integration, including partnering with Engineering and DevOps teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, including AWS or Azure
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Certification in ITIL or other relevant IT certifications
