Job Description

About the Role

The Associate Director, Patient Navigator plays a crucial role in providing education, guidance, and support to patients enrolled in Genetix Biotherapeutics' patient support services program. This role serves as a trusted partner to patients, caregivers, and Qualified Treatment Centers (QTCs), collaborating cross-functionally to optimize program operations. The Associate Director brings expertise, strategic oversight, and deep empathy to drive patient-centered care and operational excellence.

As a member of the Patient Services team, the Associate Director will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced individuals in the cell and gene therapy industry. The team is dedicated to helping patients access innovative gene therapies, and the Associate Director will play a key role in ensuring that patients receive personalized assistance throughout the treatment journey.

The Associate Director will work closely with cross-functional partners to identify potential barriers to treatment and implement proactive strategies to resolve access challenges. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

  • Provide high-touch education, support, and resources to patients and caregivers regarding the gene therapy treatment process
  • Educate patients on their gene therapy coverage based on their benefits and the steps needed to gain prior authorization
  • Assess patient and caregiver needs, tailoring resources and education to ensure understanding, confidence, and support
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for patients, ensuring questions are answered in a compassionate and compliant manner
  • Guide patients through the treatment journey, coordinating support services such as travel, lodging, and reimbursement
  • Identify potential barriers to treatment and implement proactive strategies to resolve access challenges
  • Monitor patient milestones and adherence to treatment timelines, ensuring delivery of high-quality and timely support
  • Educate internal and external stakeholders on the program to drive awareness
  • Work with QTCs to monitor patient status and facilitate patient support

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in patient education, case management, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of gene therapy treatment processes and patient support services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Excel and other software applications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as healthcare or social work
  • Certification in patient navigation or a related field (preferred)
