About the Role

As an Associate General Counsel, Privacy & Product, you will play a critical role in shaping our global privacy and product legal strategy.Our legal team is built on trust, transparency, and creativity, and we're looking for a leader who embodies these values. You will be responsible for advising on AI-powered features, emerging technologies, and global privacy regulations, ensuring that our products and services are developed with privacy-by-design principles.
You will report to the Chief Legal Officer and manage a team of privacy and product counsel, setting priorities and building a high-trust, high-output legal function.
What You Will Do
- Lead Webflow's global privacy and product legal strategy, including privacy policies, data handling practices, compliance programs, and scalable legal processes.
- Manage and develop a team of privacy and product counsel, setting priorities and balancing workload.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to embed privacy-by-design principles into the product development lifecycle.
- Advise on AI-powered features and emerging technologies, including model training data, output liability, and responsible AI governance.
- Lead privacy reviews, PIAs/DPIAs, data subject request processes, and cross-functional risk mitigation efforts.
- Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements and terms, including DPAs.
- Monitor and interpret evolving global privacy and AI regulations, translating complex legal requirements into practical guidance.
- Collaborate with Security, Engineering, and Operations to ensure privacy hygiene and risk mitigation.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in privacy and product law, with a focus on AI, technology, and emerging trends.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and emerging laws.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing legal teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with product development, AI governance, and data protection.
- Strong business acumen and ability to drive growth through informed legal counsel.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with remote teams and managing distributed workforces.
- Knowledge of Webflow's products and services, or similar digital experience platforms.
- Certification in privacy or data protection, such as CIPP or CIPM.
