About the Role
As an Associate Patient Access Specialist at Hummingbird Healthcare, you will be the first point of contact for patients seeking care. What You Will Do
- Answer patient calls and provide support with scheduling appointments, updating records, and resolving issues related to MyChart accounts
- Listen carefully to patients' concerns and provide empathetic responses to ensure that patients feel heard and supported
- Guide patients through the healthcare system, providing clear and concise information about their care options and next steps
- Recognize when patients require clinical support and escalate calls to senior specialists or leads as needed
- Use the phone system, reference materials, and Epic (the electronic medical record system) to schedule visits, update insurance and contact details, and keep patient information accurate
- Support patients in using MyChart, a secure online portal, by setting up accounts, resetting passwords, and walking them through features like messaging or virtual visits
- Document each call clearly and follow established workflows to ensure that patient information is up-to-date and accurate
- Participate in ongoing training and coaching to build consistency and accuracy in workflows
- Contribute to a positive team culture by collaborating with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and providing feedback
- Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure that patients receive the best possible care
