About the Role

The Associate Product Counsel role at Dropbox is a critical position that requires a broad range of responsibilities, including counseling the product and security teams on user privacy and data protection issues. What You Will Do

  • Counsel on user privacy and data protection issues in a dynamic and evolving environment
  • Investigate and assess security incidents, providing recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with product and security teams to ensure products are designed with privacy in mind
  • Implement measures to protect user data, including data encryption and access controls
  • Provide training and guidance to teams on data protection and user privacy best practices
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to data protection and user privacy
  • Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in data protection and user privacy, including changes in laws and regulations
  • Provide input on product development, ensuring that products are designed with privacy in mind

What We Are Looking For

  • Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations, including PIPEDA and GDPR
  • Experience in counseling product and security teams on user privacy and data protection issues
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, security, and infrastructure

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical teams
