About the Role

The Associate Vice President of Direct Mail Content at MissionWired is a key leadership role that entails overseeing and expanding the agency's direct mail creative practice. As a seasoned professional in direct response marketing, you will collaborate with internal teams to bring clients' goals to life and drive industry-leading creative approaches. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing team members, guiding career development, and fostering a culture of inclusion and innovation.

As a leader in the direct mail content team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute compelling creative strategies for world-changing nonprofits, Democratic elected officials, and political challengers. Your expertise in direct mail marketing, combined with your passion for social change, will enable you to drive real impact and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leading direct response marketing, direct mail strategy, and creative best practices for nonprofits, politicals, or both. You will be a natural collaborator, with experience working up and down your skillset and a predisposition toward out-of-the-box thinking and bold ideas.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee and expand the agency's direct mail creative practice
  • Manage team members and guide career development equitably and humbly
  • Collaborate across internal teams and ad-hoc projects
  • Develop and maintain compelling, authentic creative strategies for world-changing nonprofits, Democratic elected officials, and political challengers
  • Participate in agency work as well as business development, including bringing our best creative work forward in proposals and pitches
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and continuous learning
  • Analyze campaign results and provide data-driven insights to optimize future campaigns
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in direct mail marketing
  • Develop and manage budgets for direct mail campaigns

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience leading direct response marketing, direct mail strategy, and creative best practices for nonprofits, politicals, or both
  • Experience managing teams and training writers
  • A predisposition toward out-of-the-box thinking and bold ideas
  • Comfort working up and down your skillset
  • Experience with client-facing roles
  • A passion for supporting and connecting with individuals and teams, both colleagues and mentees
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience with Excel and other data analysis tools

Nice to Have

  • Experience with business development
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools
  • Certification in direct marketing or a related field
