About the Role
The Assistant Depot Manager role at Unilever is a critical position that entails overseeing the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of products to customers. This role requires a deep understanding of warehouse and logistics operations, as well as the ability to lead and manage a team of warehouse staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing cost, service, and inventory accuracy, while also ensuring compliance with Unilever's safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards.As a key member of the depot management team, the Assistant Depot Manager will work closely with the Depot Manager to develop and implement strategies for improving depot operations and achieving business objectives. This will involve analyzing data and metrics to identify areas for improvement, as well as collaborating with other departments, such as transport, planning, and customer service, to resolve operational issues.
The role is based in Gurgaon, Haryana, and the successful candidate will be expected to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional results and driving continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Support day-to-day warehouse and depot operations, including inbound, storage, outbound, and returns
- Coordinate manpower planning, shift schedules, and allocation of resources, such as machinery and equipment
- Monitor inventory accuracy and perform cycle counts to identify and resolve stock variances
- Ensure compliance with Unilever's safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards, and drive a 'zero incident' culture
- Track and report key performance indicators, such as productivity, damages, and turnaround time, and support improvement actions
- Liaise with transport, planning, customer service, and third-party logistics partners to resolve operational issues
- Support the deployment of digital tools and continuous improvement projects in the depot
- Coach and supervise warehouse staff and contractors, and support their performance and capability development
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and colleagues
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, and implement changes to achieve business objectives
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in warehouse, depot, or logistics operations, preferably in the FMCG or similar industry
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory management, and basic supply chain planning concepts
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, operational environment, and flexibility to work shifts
- Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related discipline
- Experience with digital tools and technologies, such as data analytics and automation systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers

- Experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of achieving business objectives and driving continuous improvement
- Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Kaizen
