Astrophysics Expert – Remote Position

About the Role

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas where astrophysics expertise can be applied to improve model performance. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex data sets, as well as creating and presenting reports to stakeholders. Your exceptional written and verbal communication skills will be essential in this role, as you will need to effectively communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What You Will Do

• Develop and maintain complex data sets to support the evaluation of AI model performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas where astrophysics expertise can be applied
• Create and present reports to stakeholders on model performance and recommendations for improvement
• Work closely with data scientists and engineers to integrate astrophysics expertise into AI models
• Develop and maintain documentation of data sets and model performance
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in astrophysics and AI research
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
• Develop and implement automated testing and validation procedures
• Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritize project requirements

What We Are Looking For

• PhD in Physics with specialization in General Relativity, Astrophysics, or Cosmology
• Graduate degree from a reputable university in the US, UK, Canada, or Western Europe
• High attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent proficiency in English
• Experience working with complex data sets and AI models
• Strong understanding of astrophysics and physics principles
• Experience working in a remote team environment
• Proficiency in tools like Excel and experience with data analysis software
