About the Role

The Attraction Instructor is a pivotal position at Royal Caribbean International, responsible for delivering top-tier hospitality and safety standards within tours, attractions, and excursions on the Destination. This multifaceted role encompasses group instruction, safety enforcement, and specialized land, water, and height rescues. As a key member of the team, the Attraction Instructor will thrive on guest interaction, fostering a positive work atmosphere, prioritizing customer service, and delivering safety across all activities.

The core focus of this role remains on guest safety, immediate response to emergencies, and proficient execution of advanced life-saving procedures in various environments. Emotional resilience is paramount, as the Attraction Instructor must maintain composure and rationality during high-stress situations, effectively managing their reactions and making sound decisions even in challenging circumstances.

The Attraction Instructor will work closely with the Attractions & Recreation Lead to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences. This role may also entail support for other aquatic activities and participation in the lifeguard program.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure safety and guest satisfaction by teaching and instructing activity techniques, safety, and the correct use of equipment
  • Deliver experiences so guests feel confident and capable in new activities and enable them to overcome challenges to succeed
  • Provide expert advice to guests on equipment use and fit, ensuring they are using the correct type and size
  • Lead, instruct, guide, and supervise attractions, activities, and experiences in a safe and responsible way
  • Communicate positively and enthusiastically with guests, identifying nature and points of interest within the environment
  • Manage and control large diverse groups of varying abilities, backgrounds, and ages, demonstrating a safety-first culture in all activities
  • Interpret body language cues, respond effectively, and adeptly manage a variety of interpersonal situations
  • Apply sound logic and reasoning to assess situations and exhibit the capacity to adapt within established protocols to manage various scenarios
  • Use clear and professional communication while using the radio channel provided for operation
  • Exemplify strong time management skills, conducting tours in a timely manner and effectively prioritizing and completing tasks
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork while maintaining a high degree of autonomy and self-driven productivity
