## About the Role The role of an AU Bookkeeper at Hunt St's client involves managing the financial records of Australian clients using Xero, ensuring accuracy, and compliance with Australian accounting standards. Day-to-day, this will entail processing transactions, reconciliations, and assisting with compliance requirements. The successful candidate will be working remotely as an independent contractor, requiring strong self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines without direct supervision.

## What You Will Do - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for Australian clients using Xero.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently.
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Assist with BAS preparation and GST compliance requirements, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Manage payroll, including STP reporting, superannuation, and leave tracking for clients.
- Prepare and review financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, to provide clients with financial insights.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure a smooth financial cycle.
- Respond professionally to client queries regarding their bookkeeping and financial records.
- Ensure all bookkeeping records comply with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation for easy reference and auditing purposes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure deadlines and client expectations are consistently met.
- Experience working for an Australian bookkeeping or accounting firm.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and Xero Payroll.
- Strong knowledge of Australian GST, BAS, and superannuation requirements.
- Solid understanding of Australian business structures, including companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work.
