About the Role
The Audit Manager I role at TD Bank is a critical position that entails leading and executing audits for assigned businesses, functions, or projects. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for overseeing moderately complex audits and providing guidance to junior team members. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying key risks and opportunities for improvement, ensuring the adequacy of internal controls, and presenting objective and independent audit opinions to stakeholders.Day-to-day, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate audit processes, manage stakeholder communications, and ensure timely completion of audits. What You Will Do
- Execute audits from end-to-end, ensuring completion and adherence to established standards
- Provide subject matter expertise on audits, including coaching and educating junior team members
- Lead moderately complex audits, managing stakeholders and ensuring timely completion
- Develop and execute test scripts, walkthroughs, and issue management
- Identify key risks and opportunities for improvement, recommending enhancements to internal controls
- Present objective and independent audit opinions to stakeholders, including findings and recommendations
- Manage ongoing audit communications with stakeholders, ensuring transparent and timely updates
- Complete L1 reviews and sign off on all audit activities, ensuring quality and adherence to standards
- Contribute to the audit planning process, ensuring appropriate programs and risk assessments are completed
- Execute follow-up of findings raised from regulatory and internal divisional audits
What We Are Looking For
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., accounting, finance, business administration)
- 5+ years of relevant experience in audit, preferably in the banking or financial industry
- Experience working with audit methodology, including sampling guidance and requirements
- Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and audit planning
- Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of autonomy
- Experience with data analytics and audit tools (e.g., ACAMS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a Financial Crimes Team, with a focus on AML and audit
- Certification in a relevant field (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA)
- Experience with audit planning and execution, including risk assessment and control evaluation
- Knowledge of banking regulations and industry standards
