What You Will Do
- Collaborate with coding and clinical team members to ensure accurate medical record coding and documentation
- Perform audit tasks to identify areas for improvement and optimize coding practices
- Participate in relevant corporate programs and initiatives to stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Ensure compliance with professional, quality, and security standards in all aspects of your work
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external clients and stakeholders
- Create content as necessary to support the coding and clinical teams
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in ICD 10, PCS guidelines, and MS-DRG and APR DRG methodologies
- Apply your clinical knowledge to coding, ensuring that solutions are both effective and compassionate
- Participate in quality initiatives to continuously improve processes and outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence
What We Are Looking For
- Valid Registered Nurse license with a bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Seven years of nursing experience, with five years in the inpatient acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of auditing practices, ICD 10, PCS guidelines, quality initiatives, and MS-DRG and APR DRG methodologies
- Clinical documentation experience as an auditor/DRG validator, with CCDS, CCS, or CDIP certification
- Ability to travel up to 25% for work-related purposes
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with telecommuting, working with EMRs, and other electronic tools
- Current chart auditing skills and knowledge of Solventum HIS software portfolio (360 Encompass)
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in nursing or another healthcare clinical background from an accredited institution
- Experience working with Solventum HIS software portfolio (360 Encompass)
- Proficiency in additional Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in a related field, such as healthcare consulting or medical writing
