About the Role

The Australian Freelance Copywriter role at Spotzer Digital is an exciting opportunity for talented writers to join a dynamic team of professionals who are passionate about creating high-quality, SEO-focused content for small to medium-sized businesses across Australia. As a freelance copywriter, you will be working remotely and will be responsible for writing website copy for a variety of industries, from landscapers to florists. In this role, you will be working closely with the content manager to deliver insightful, creative copy that meets the needs of Spotzer Digital's clients. You will be writing directly onto the company's CMS, so some technical knowledge may be required. However, basic training will be provided in the form of instructional documents and email support, where needed. You will not be required to design any visual elements, just focus on writing and editing the text in the web template.

What You Will Do

  • Write website copy for small business websites across a variety of industries
  • Work closely with the content manager to deliver insightful, creative copy that meets the needs of Spotzer Digital's clients
  • Write directly onto the company's CMS, using your technical knowledge to navigate the system
  • Edit and proofread your work to ensure high-quality, error-free content
  • Meet deadlines and deliver work on time, working effectively in a remote setting
  • Communicate with the content manager via email, providing updates on your progress and seeking feedback
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in SEO and SEM, applying your knowledge to improve the quality of your work
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, juggling different writing demands and priorities
  • Commit to at least 15 pages (~5 websites) per week, with the potential to take on more work as needed
  • Continuously improve your writing skills, seeking feedback and looking for opportunities to develop your craft

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 1 year of experience writing as a freelancer or working for an advertising or marketing agency
  • A strong understanding of SEO and SEM concepts, with the ability to apply your knowledge in a practical setting
  • Native English speaker or exceptionally proficient ESL, with excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Happy working remotely and communicating with the content manager via email
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively juggle different writing demands
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, error-free content that meets the needs of Spotzer Digital's clients
  • Australian Business Number (ABN) or willingness to obtain one, with an Australian bank account
  • Ability to start work immediately, with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
