Automation Engineer

About the Role

The role entails understanding the processes of each department and connecting them with smart automations. You will be conceiving, designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows, as well as proactively suggesting and implementing new automation and process improvements. Your goal will be to build a company operations backbone that is designed with long-term benefits and quality in mind, and to constantly receive feedback about the impact of your work.

You will be part of a team that values quick feedback loops and iteration on work. The company is looking for someone who can identify bottlenecks, test hypotheses, fix the root cause, and track performance. If you are a self-directed and collaborative individual who can communicate excellently and think like an engineer, this role might be for you.

What You Will Do

• Work across departments to understand their processes and connect them with smart automations
• Conceive, design, build, and maintain automated workflows
• Proactively suggest and implement new automation and process improvements
• Participate in internal discovery sessions with stakeholders to identify pain points and success criteria for solutions
• Document processes, monitor results, and measure the impact of improvements
• Design simple monitoring, dashboards, or alerts to ensure key automations are working correctly
• Collaborate with the CEO and multiple departments to break information silos and leverage existing data
• Build a company operations backbone that is designed with long-term benefits and quality in mind
• Constantly receive feedback about the impact of your work
• Identify bottlenecks, test hypotheses, fix the root cause, and track performance

What We Are Looking For

• Solid experience with automation tools such as Clay, Zapier, n8n, or Make
• Ability to quickly learn new automation tools
• Prior experience with delivering complex automation systems using software architecture design patterns
• Comfortable writing simple scripts in JavaScript or Python
• Experience working with APIs and databases (SQL, NoSQL)
• Ability to glue systems together with low-code solutions
• Practical knowledge of AI models and CRM platforms like HubSpot
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
• Self-directed and collaborative with a focus on quick feedback loops
• Ability to think like an engineer and identify bottlenecks

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-code solutions
• Knowledge of data visualization tools
• Familiarity with project management methodologies
• Certification in automation or a related field
