About the Role
Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions is looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to design and implement a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor. As an integral part of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for standardizing infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible, and integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines. The role involves building reusable modules and roles to automate host provisioning and configuration, as well as integrating the platform with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.The Automation Engineer will work closely with the development team to provide APIs and integration patterns, enabling other tools and portals to consume platform services. The ideal candidate will have experience in virtualization operations, Ansible, Terraform, and data center architecture, with knowledge of Grafana and Prometheus being an advantage.

What You Will Do
- Design and implement a SUSE-based virtualization platform using KVM as the hypervisor
- Standardize infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible
- Build reusable modules and roles to automate host provisioning and configuration
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines to enable repeatable and testable infrastructure changes
- Integrate the platform with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools
- Provide APIs and integration patterns for other tools and portals to consume platform services
- Maintain a living architecture document covering all layers, including compute, storage, network, automation, and observability
- Collaborate with the development team to ensure seamless integration of automation workflows
- Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures
- Participate in the development of new automation tools and processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation and virtualization
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in virtualization operations, with a focus on KVM and SUSE-based platforms
- Strong knowledge of Ansible and Terraform, with experience in infrastructure as code
- Experience with data center architecture and design
- Knowledge of Grafana and Prometheus, with experience in monitoring and logging
- Entrepreneurial thinking and self-management skills, with the ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with development teams
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Experience with ITSM tools, such as ServiceNow

- Experience with containerization, using tools such as Docker
