About the Role

The AWS DevOps specialist role at goPro Consultancy Group is a full-time remote position that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and collaboration skills. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of cloud-based production systems, leveraging your knowledge of AWS services, DevOps practices, and automated testing. Your day-to-day tasks will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure systems.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the migration of websites to AWS, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance
  • Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain AWS cloud-based production systems, using best practices and industry-leading tools
  • Ensure the availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly
  • Manage the creation, release, and configuration of production systems, using version control systems like Git
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement automated testing and deployment verification
  • Provide recommendations for architecture and process improvements, leveraging your expertise in DevOps practices and cloud security
  • Define and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on the AWS platform
  • Design, maintain, and manage tools for automation of operational processes, using scripting languages and container implementation
  • Perform system troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms
  • Conduct pre-production acceptance testing for quality assurance, ensuring that systems meet the required standards
  • Provision critical system security, leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions
  • Perform other duties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of services

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting application build and deployment in an AWS Cloud environment
  • Experience and deep understanding of core DevOps practices, including configuration management, continuous integration, infrastructure as code, and continuous monitoring
  • Experience and expertise in scripting languages like Python, Terraform, and Bash
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS services, including EC2, ECS, ELB/ALB, Security Groups, Route53, IAM, KMS, Cognito, and Lambda
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture, container implementation, and Docker
  • Certification in AWS or DevOps is an advantage
  • Excellent English language proficiency, both written and oral
  • Ability to work remotely and collaborate effectively with distributed teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automated testing and deployment verification
  • Knowledge of MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git
  • Experience with cloud security solutions and compliance frameworks
  • Certification in cloud security or related fields
