The Bakery team at Kirk Market is committed to delivering exceptional products and services, and we are looking for a skilled and dedicated Baker to join our team.

What You Will Do

• Prepare a large variety of pastries, bread, and other related products to the highest quality standards
• Assist in ordering and inventory control of ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely and efficient delivery
• Receive and prepare orders, maintaining accurate records and attention to detail
• Bag and package products, ensuring they are presented in an attractive and appealing manner
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to strict sanitation standards
• Clean and restock workstations, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
• Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
• Work effectively in a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive workplace
• Develop and maintain knowledge of products, ingredients, and production methods, staying up-to-date with industry trends and developments

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience working in a similar baking and retail environment
• Baking certification is desirable, but not essential
• Ability to perform basic mathematics, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently, with a self-motivated and proactive approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide effective customer service
• Strong team player, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a hot environment, stand, walk, bend, use hands and appliances, and lift heavy items (up to 50lbs) for extended periods
• Ability to work night shifts, evenings, weekends, public holidays, and flexible hours as required

Nice to Have

• Experience with inventory management software and systems
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining high standards
• Ability to speak multiple languages, with a strong focus on customer service and communication
