About the Role
As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Posthog, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Your day-to-day tasks will involve researching potential clients, building relationships, and presenting the value of Posthog's products to key decision-makers. You will be part of the New Business Sales team, led by Charles Cook, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a unified sales strategy.Posthog's mission to provide every product that companies need to run their business, from the first day to IPO and beyond, is ambitious and exciting. With a product-led approach, the company has already seen significant success, with over 100,000 companies installing PostHog, primarily through word-of-mouth. What You Will Do
- Research and identify potential clients that align with Posthog's product offerings and mission
- Develop and execute personalized sales strategies to engage with key decision-makers at target companies
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through continuous outreach and follow-up
- Present the value and benefits of Posthog's products to potential clients, emphasizing how they can meet their specific business needs
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and refine sales materials and strategies
- Utilize Excel and other sales tools to track, analyze, and report on sales performance and pipeline development
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to continuously improve sales approaches
- Participate in sales meetings, conferences, and other events as required to generate leads and build relationships
- Work closely with the product team to provide feedback from the market and help shape the product roadmap
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in sales, preferably in a BDR or similar role in the tech or software industry
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong understanding of sales principles, methodologies, and best practices
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on autonomy and self-motivation
- Proficiency in Excel and other sales and CRM tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and develop insights
- Passion for technology, sales, and business development, with a keen interest in staying up-to-date with industry trends
