About the Role

The Student Life Coach will be an integral part of the FindTutors team, working closely with students to help them navigate their educational journey. This involves providing guidance on academic and personal matters, helping students set and achieve their goals, and fostering a supportive and inclusive community.

As a remote worker, you will be expected to be self-motivated and disciplined, with excellent communication and organizational skills. You will be working with students from diverse backgrounds, so cultural competence and sensitivity are essential.

What You Will Do

• Provide one-on-one coaching and guidance to students, helping them to set and achieve their academic and personal goals
• Develop and implement personalized learning plans, tailored to each student's unique needs and abilities
• Foster a supportive and inclusive community, promoting social and emotional learning and well-being
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators, providing regular updates and progress reports
• Utilize digital tools and platforms to deliver coaching services, including video conferencing and online learning management systems
• Collaborate with other FindTutors team members to develop and implement coaching programs and services
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in coaching and education, attending professional development opportunities and workshops
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and educators, providing ongoing support and guidance
• Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to coaching programs and services, as needed
• Evaluate the effectiveness of coaching programs and services, using data and feedback to inform practice

What We Are Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in education, coaching, or a related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to utilize digital tools and platforms, including video conferencing and online learning management systems
• Experience with coaching or mentoring, preferably in an educational setting
• Strong knowledge of academic and personal development principles, with the ability to apply these in practice
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a passion for staying up-to-date with best practices in coaching and education

Nice to Have

• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, including international students
• Knowledge of multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with students who speak different languages
• Experience with online learning platforms and digital tools, including learning management systems and video conferencing software
• Certification in coaching or a related field, such as education or counseling
