About the Role

The Behavior Technician role at Constellation Health Service is a unique opportunity to work with children with Autism and related developmental disabilities, providing clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. As a Behavior Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, implementing intervention strategies and collecting data on client progress. This role requires a strong understanding of behavior analysis techniques and the ability to work effectively with clients, parents, and caregivers in various settings.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a Behavior Technician at Constellation Health Service involve planning and implementing intervention strategies, teaching targeted behaviors, and recording and tracking data from training sessions. You will also communicate effectively with administrators, parents, and community members, providing accurate documentation of intervention, goals, and objectives. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a strong commitment to providing high-quality care and support to clients.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and implement intervention strategies using direct therapy, monitoring, and consultation under the supervision of a BCBA
  • Teach targeted behaviors using specialized techniques, such as reward systems, incidental teaching, and pivotal response training
  • Record and track data from training sessions, including client progress and behavior reduction
  • Reinforce positive behavior with children on caseload, promoting social skills, communication, and personal self-care
  • Communicate effectively with administrators, parents, and community members, providing accurate documentation of intervention, goals, and objectives
  • Facilitate transition among agencies, programs, and professionals as service provision changes
  • Identify emergency situations and determine appropriate action to ensure child safety
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements
  • Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with client's individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols

What We Are Looking For

  • 1-2 years of experience working with children with Autism and related developmental disabilities
  • Strong understanding of behavior analysis techniques and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis or a related field (e.g., RBT, BCBA) preferred

  • Experience with data collection and analysis software
