About the Role
The Behavioral Health Coach role is an exciting opportunity to support mental health and personal growth in Rwanda. As a practitioner on Intellect's telehealth platform, you will work with clients to address sub-clinical cases such as work stress, procrastination, and work-life balance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting scheduled 30-minute video sessions, setting goals with clients, and collaborating with the internal clinical team to improve the program and platform.The role is freelance and remote, offering flexibility in deciding your business hours. Local candidates are preferred, but international applicants can still be considered. This role is ideal for supplementing your current job or private practice, and it's a great chance to be part of a community working together to increase mental health access.
What You Will Do
- Provide 1-on-1 telehealth professional or mental health coaching for Intellect's clients
- Focus on sub-clinical cases such as work stress, procrastination, and work-life balance
- Support clients in setting up personal or career goals, relationships, and more
- Collaborate with the internal clinical team to suggest improvements to the program and platform
- Conduct scheduled 30-minute video sessions with clients
- Develop and implement coaching plans tailored to each client's needs
- Maintain accurate records of client sessions and progress
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss best practices and share knowledge
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in mental health coaching
What We Are Looking For
- Active International Coaching Federation Certification or a Master/Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling
- Skilled in coaching techniques and/or evidence-based approaches (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, DBT, SFBT)
- ICF Coaches must have at least 200 coaching hours
- Counsellors must have at least 300 clinical hours post-graduation
- Proficient in English and local language
- Prior experience in EAP, counseling working adults, or coaching managerial roles is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice to Have
- Experience with telehealth platforms and remote coaching
- Knowledge of local mental health resources and services
- Familiarity with Intellect's telehealth platform
- Certification in specialized coaching areas (e.g., trauma, anxiety)
