About the Role

The Bengali Language Verifier role is a project-based, contract position that involves creating and evaluating language verification tests. What You Will Do

  • Create language verification tests following detailed instructions provided by project managers
  • Evaluate language test submissions and provide feedback to project managers
  • Conduct quality control on audio and video files
  • Report progress and meet assigned deadlines
  • Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner via email
  • Follow guidelines and requirements as dictated by project managers
  • Record yourself speaking clearly in a quiet environment
  • Utilize computer and internet skills to complete tasks
  • Conduct web searches to gather information
  • Type accurately and efficiently
  • Meet deadlines and work in a proactive manner

What We Are Looking For

  • Highly proficient (C2 CEFR) in Bengali, including the ability to read and write
  • Familiarity with linguistics, grammar, and writing systems of the Bengali language
  • Knowledge of colloquialisms, grammar, and linguistic idiosyncrasies unique to the Bengali language
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent computer and internet skills
  • Strong typing and web search skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English via email
  • Access to a personal laptop or computer and internet

Nice to Have

  • Previous professional experience working in the Bengali language
  • Formal education in the Bengali language, secondary school or higher
