About the Role

The Bid Manager position is a crucial part of px Group's Business Engineering services, delivered by px Engineering Consultants Limited (PXECL). This team is renowned for its exceptional engineering expertise and its ability to deliver integrated services, combining technical and operational excellence with a deep understanding of regulatory environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the bid process, ensuring that every bid goes through the relevant process gates, and that all forms, documentation, and approvals are completed and received before submission to the customer.

As a key member of the team, the Bid Manager will work closely with the Sales team to review opportunities, understand the company's position, and manage customer expectations. This role also involves collaborating with internal departments to ensure that opportunities are understood, levels of effort are agreed upon, and the correct level of information is collated to enable the completion of award-winning proposals.

What You Will Do

  • Manage the bid process to ensure that every bid goes through the relevant process gates and all forms, documentation, and approvals have been completed and received.
  • Review, prioritize, and action all opportunities that come into the Stockton PXE Facility with the correct level of effort that meets both customer requirements and company strategy.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to ensure each opportunity is reviewed, and the company's position is understood so that sales can manage the customer accordingly.
  • Manage the bids pipeline to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is collated and ready to use for reporting metrics and KPIs to the wider management team.
  • Take ownership of all bid submissions and ensure the process is followed, with diligent review and accuracy delivered across all opportunities.
  • Be accountable for folder and structure management of all opportunities to ensure all information is stored in the correct locations.
  • Complete all audits of the bid process.
  • Review and present all opportunities to the management team in the form of a Technical Bid review, ensuring the correct approvals are gained before submission.
  • Analyze bid costs to ensure diligence of the costs and the correct actions required.
  • Ensure all bids are fully compliant with the client's requirements and instructions and meet internal rules and regulations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a Bid Management or similar role, with a strong track record of managing successful bids.
  • Excellent understanding of the bid process and the importance of compliance with client requirements and internal regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with the ability to analyze and manage data effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with various teams, including Sales and internal departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple bids simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and delivering high-quality submissions.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and databases.
  • Understanding of technical and operational aspects of the business, with the ability to review and analyze technical submissions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review bid costs and ensure diligence and accuracy.
