About the Role
The Bilingual Therapist position at Daybreak Health is a unique opportunity for professionals to provide critical support to K-12 students in North Carolina. As a bilingual therapist, you will work closely with school counselors and families to deliver evidence-based teletherapy services, addressing the complex needs of students from diverse backgrounds. What You Will Do
- Provide evidence-based teletherapy services to K-12 students in North Carolina, addressing a range of mental health needs and concerns
- Collaborate with school counselors and families to develop personalized treatment plans, ensuring that each student receives tailored support
- Participate in weekly supervision and case consultations, sharing best practices and receiving feedback from experienced colleagues
- Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, including progress notes and treatment plans
- Communicate effectively with the Daybreak Health team, ensuring seamless coordination of services and support
- Develop and implement strategies to engage students and families in the therapy process, promoting active participation and meaningful outcomes
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in teletherapy, attending training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge
- Contribute to the development of new programs and services, helping to shape the future of Daybreak Health's teletherapy offerings
- Foster strong relationships with school counselors and administrators, ensuring that Daybreak Health's services are integrated effectively into the educational setting
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, helping to evaluate and refine the organization's services and supports
What We Are Looking For
- Active LMHCA or LCSWA license in North Carolina, with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapy practices
- Bilingual Spanish/English fluency, with the ability to communicate effectively with Latinx students and families
- Experience working with school-aged youth and families, preferably in a teletherapy or mental health setting
- Comfort with digital platforms and electronic health records (EHR) systems, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Availability to work Monday-Friday, 3-8 PM, with flexibility to accommodate occasional evening or weekend appointments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while maintaining a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Familiarity with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or similar modalities, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new approaches
- Experience working with diverse populations, including Latinx students and families, with a deep understanding of the cultural and linguistic nuances that shape their experiences
Nice to Have
- Prior experience working in a school-based or youth-focused setting, with a strong understanding of the educational context and its impact on mental health
- Familiarity with Guatemalan or Mayan cultures, with a willingness to learn and adapt to the unique needs and concerns of these communities
