About the Role
The Billing Analyst role at Billtrust EU Careers is a critical component of the company's financial operations, responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate billing of customers across multiple billing models. As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have a strong operational focus, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate complex systems and billing models. The role will involve collaborating cross-functionally with various departments to support the onboarding and billing of new customer agreements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of billing principles and practices, as well as experience with enterprise billing or ERP systems. With a focus on process automation and workflow optimization, the Billing Analyst will identify opportunities to improve the billing process and implement changes to increase efficiency and accuracy. As a remote worker, the Billing Analyst will be part of a global team, working closely with colleagues across different time zones to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.What You Will Do
- Prepare and process invoices to ensure accuracy and timeliness of monthly invoices across multiple billing models
- Review and analyze customer accounts to verify transactions are billed accurately and timely
- Process contract-driven changes, such as adjustments, credits, rebills, and cancellations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support the onboarding and billing of new customer agreements
- Identify opportunities for process automation and workflow optimization within the billing process
- Document billing processes, SOPs, and changes to maintain accurate operational guides
- Support financial reporting, monthly close, internal audits, and ad hoc data analysis as required
- Support special billing projects and assist in responding to internal and external billing inquiries via the shared inbox
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's billing policies and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in billing and revenue operations
What We Are Looking For
- 3-5 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, revenue operations, or a related operational finance role
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workloads with speed and accuracy
- Proficiency with enterprise billing or ERP systems; experience with BillingPlatform and/or Intacct strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail, with a track record of identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Clear, professional communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
- Process-oriented mindset and ability to document workflows effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and outside the box
- Experience with data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex data insights
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with automation tools and workflows, such as Zapier or Automate.io
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems, such as QuickBooks or Xero
- Certification in accounting or finance, such as CPA or CMA
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Proficiency in multiple languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with international clients
