About the Role

The work you do matters because it helps ensure that disability claims are evaluated fairly and based on medical evidence. Your role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the disability claims process. You will work as an independent consultant, choosing the services and case types you wish to work on and dictating your volume of work based on your scheduled availability.

What You Will Do

• Evaluate disability claims based on medical evidence and guidelines.
• Provide advisory-only opinions without establishing a doctor-patient relationship or providing treatment.
• Work on cases with a typical turnaround time of 3-5 business days, depending on the level of review required.
• Utilize a user-friendly work portal for efficient case management.
• Participate in initial training and have access to ongoing support for any questions or concerns.
• Choose your cases and manage your workload for a healthy work-life balance.
• Conduct reviews based on detailed medical records and guidelines provided.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality determinations and reports.

What We Are Looking For

• Board Certification in PM&R/Pain or a related field.
• Current, unrestricted medical license.
• Experience in conducting Disability Peer Reviews is preferred.
• Strong understanding of medical evidence and guidelines related to disability claims.
• Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for remote work.
• Strong communication skills for effective report writing and potential consultations.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working in a remote or telehealth setting.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and digital case management systems.
• Certification in a related specialty or subspecialty.
