About the Role
As a Board Certified Physician Reviewer at Dane Street, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive reviews of clinical cases and providing expert, evidence-based medical opinions. This role is part of a growing team of clinical reviewers who are dedicated to improving the quality, accuracy, and consistency of healthcare assessments. The role of a physician reviewer is critical in ensuring that patients receive high-quality, defensible medical determinations. As an orthopedic surgeon, you will be applying your expertise to review medical records, prepare clear and concise clinical summaries, and participate in peer-to-peer discussions when necessary.
What You Will Do
- Review medical records and provide comprehensive, evidence-based opinions on orthopedic cases
- Prepare clear and concise clinical summaries of patient records
- Participate in peer-to-peer discussions with other healthcare professionals as needed
- Respond to specific questions from clients related to orthopedic care
- Utilize digital skills to manage medical records and communicate with the team
- Analyze data and provide expert opinions on musculoskeletal injuries and conditions
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal medicine
- Collaborate with other clinical reviewers to ensure consistency and quality of reviews
- Attend all required orientation and training sessions to ensure competence in the role
What We Are Looking For
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery residency
- Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery
- Current, unrestricted Mississippi medical license
- Minimum of 5+ years of clinical orthopedic experience
- Strong understanding of digital skills and remote work
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to attend all required orientation and training sessions
- Maintains appropriate credentialing, state licensure, and any certifications required to perform the role
Nice to Have
- Experience with telehealth services or remote medical review
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and digital health platforms
- Strong understanding of healthcare policy and regulations
