About the Role
The bookkeeper position at Virtual Coworker is a unique opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join a dynamic property development business in Australia. As a remote worker, you will be responsible for managing daily bookkeeping tasks across multiple business entities, ensuring seamless financial operations. The role is part-time, with a focus on maintaining accurate financial records, project allocations, and assisting with BAS preparation.The ideal candidate will be well-versed in using digital tools such as Xero and Hubdoc, with a strong understanding of financial management principles. You will be working closely with the business owner to ensure financial records are current and project coding is accurate.
What You Will Do
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations of bank, credit card, and loan accounts
- Allocate invoices and expenses to the appropriate property developments within Xero
- Process supplier invoices using Hubdoc
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and project allocations
- Assist with BAS preparation by ensuring financial records remain current
- Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies
- Liaise with the business owner regarding project coding where required
- Maintain organized digital financial records using Dropbox
- Assist with clearing an initial bookkeeping backlog before transitioning into ongoing maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
- Provide support for financial reporting and analysis as needed
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field
- Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices
- Proficiency in using Xero and Hubdoc
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of Australian tax laws and regulations
- Experience with property development or construction industry is a plus
- Certification in bookkeeping or a related field is desirable
