Job Description

About the Role

The Building Performance Analyst role at Ameresco is a key position within the Asset Sustainability Group, supporting the delivery of Advisory Services and the implementation of the AssetPlanner software suite. This involves working closely with a team of professionals to apply comprehensive facility evaluations and sound data analysis principles to drive cost savings, resilience, and decarbonization for clients. The role is ideal for a focused professional in a technical field looking to gain hands-on experience in working with facility information through the lens of total cost of ownership.

Day-to-day, the Building Performance Analyst will be engaged in a variety of tasks, from energy use intensity analysis and facility data capture to report generation and site visits with clients. The ability to read and analyze complex data, including construction drawings and operations and maintenance manuals, is crucial. This role is not only about analyzing data but also about understanding how facilities operate and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.

What You Will Do

  • Read, analyze, and summarize recommendations for efficiency improvements based on construction drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage, schedule, and conduct site visits with clients to document and geolocate assets, identifying unsafe access to assets/equipment/systems and capturing evidence of building automation systems operation.
  • Perform energy use intensity calculations based on ASHRAE 100 and identify existing maintenance approaches and evidence of maintenance implementation.
  • Operate digital imagery tools, including LiDAR scanning equipment, photogrammetry capture devices, and drones, to support data collection and analysis.
  • Manage the quality assurance process to ensure that the scope of collected facility information and data align with Ameresco's established standards.
  • Align asset inventory with respective preventative maintenance tasks and operate various software applications, including Grafana, PowerBI, Bluebeam, Microsoft Visio, and Autodesk applications.
  • Collect customized preventative maintenance (PM) data for clients, including asset inventory services and identifying asset locations on provided floor plans.
  • Import existing client portfolio information into AssetPlanner, including floorplan mapping and analysis, and ensure that imported data is correctly transferred.
  • Participate in the implementation of AssetPlanner, including configuration, client presentations, and training sessions.
  • Perform analysis and population of data within the Maintenance, Energy, Capital Planning, and Project Planning modules of ASG's in-house software suite.
  • Support Project Managers with project scheduling, time estimates, monthly status reports, and project delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing systems, or Construction Management.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification or the ability to obtain it within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to accurately identify varying assets and systems in a facility.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with software applications such as Grafana, PowerBI, and Autodesk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to clients.
