Business Development Associate - Partnerships

About the Role

As a key member of the business development team, the associate will be engaged in proactive outreach to builders and platforms utilizing Supabase, particularly within modern 'vibe coding' environments. This will involve identifying potential partners, assessing their needs, and presenting tailored solutions that highlight the benefits of Supabase's offerings.

What You Will Do

• Proactively engage with builders and platforms using Supabase, focusing on those within modern 'vibe coding' environments.
• Work closely with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales) to execute a pipeline of partnership opportunities.
• Manage onboarded partners, providing co-marketing support to increase adoption and ensure successful partnerships.
• Monitor trends across AI-assisted development, open-source infrastructure, and developer workflows to identify new ecosystem opportunities.
• Help grow Supabase's presence within next-generation coding platforms by building relationships with founders, developers, and platform teams.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on the latest developments in AI-assisted development and open-source technologies.
• Analyze business opportunities and present findings to the team, contributing to the development of strategic partnership plans.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Supabase's services and how they can be leveraged by partners to drive mutual growth.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop co-marketing strategies that support partnership goals.
• Work with the sales team to ensure alignment on partnership objectives and to leverage sales insights for partnership development.

What We Are Looking For

• Recent MBA graduate or 2–5 years of professional work experience in business development, consulting, or a related field.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies, SaaS models, or developer ecosystems.
• Experience with market research, strategic analysis, or partnership development, ideally within the open-source space.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify trends and assess business opportunities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and present findings clearly.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing projects independently.
• Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in tools like Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience working in a remote team or a similar setup, with an understanding of the importance of asynchronous communication.

Nice to Have

• Experience building side projects or prototypes using Supabase in conjunction with AI-powered tools.
• Familiarity with open-source communities or developer GTM (Go-To-Market) strategies.
• Internship or early experience at a startup, VC firm, or developer tooling company.
• Exposure to AI/LLM-powered developer tools and workflows.
• Knowledge of programming languages or experience with database management systems.
