About the Role
The Business Development Executive II role at DoorDash is a critical position focused on acquiring and retaining top restaurant partners. As part of the SMB Business Development team, this role involves leading strategic negotiations and developing data-backed proposals to drive profitability and efficiency for high-value merchants. The ideal candidate will operate as a strategic advisor, utilizing insights, financial modeling, and cross-functional collaboration to design exclusive partnerships that enhance both merchant success and DoorDash's competitive position.The SMB Business Development team partners with leading small- to medium-sized restaurant operators across the U.S. to grow and deepen their presence on DoorDash. The team's focus is on acquiring and retaining top restaurant selection by helping merchants transition from multi-platform distribution to exclusive partnerships. This involves introducing them to DoorDash's full suite of growth solutions, including marketing, fulfillment, and guest engagement tools.
What You Will Do
- Lead strategic negotiations with high-value restaurant merchants to secure exclusive partnerships
- Develop data-backed proposals that drive merchant growth and DoorDash profitability
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Account Management, US Local Markets, Local Marketing, Strategic Finance, Product, and Selection
- Develop scalable solutions and refine the exclusivity go-to-market strategy
- Provide insights and feedback to directly influence the evolution of the sales playbook and product development
- Act as a trusted partner to merchants, aligning DoorDash products to their goals
- Translate deal learnings and merchant feedback into scalable talk tracks and pitch materials
- Manage opportunities from strategy through close in a fast-moving environment
- Operate entrepreneurially, moving quickly, leading through ambiguity, and taking ownership of outcomes
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or strategic partnerships
- Strong record of closing complex, high-value deals from end to end
- Consultative sales approach with the ability to align tailored solutions to partner needs
- Experience collaborating across cross-functional stakeholders to deliver integrated outcomes
- Strong financial and business acumen, including comfort working with P&Ls and ROI analysis
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Experience using data and analytics to inform deal strategy and influence stakeholders
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, delivery economics, or digital marketing within a marketplace environment
