About the Role

The Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Lucas James Talent Partners' diagnostics business across the United States and Canada. This will involve leveraging industry knowledge, professional networks, and strategic partnerships to identify high-value opportunities and secure new business. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a dynamic team, working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective sales strategies. The role will also require building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers in the diagnostics sector, including Procurement and R&D teams.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include researching and connecting with potential clients, establishing relationships with key decision-makers, and facilitating introductions and initial appointments. The Business Development Manager will also provide advisory support through early-stage deal formation, ensuring that proposals are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. This will require a deep understanding of the diagnostics industry, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

The role will involve working remotely, with occasional domestic and international travel required for business purposes. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently, with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for driving business growth.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and research potential clients in the diagnostics sector, with a focus on companies engaged in human clinical testing and in vitro diagnostics (IVD)
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers, including Procurement, R&D, and technical evaluation teams
  • Facilitate introductions and secure initial appointments, meetings, and qualified leads
  • Support the development, alignment, and preparation of proposals to ensure consistency with customer needs and company capabilities
  • Provide business development advisory support through early-stage deal formation
  • Arrange and coordinate technical discussions between customers and internal teams as needed
  • Monitor progress of early business activities and assist with follow-up to maintain engagement
  • Assist colleagues from Japan during customer interactions to ensure clear communication and cultural understanding
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective sales strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the diagnostics sector

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Chemistry, Business)
  • Experience within the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industry, especially human clinical testing
  • Strong network and established connections with diagnostics companies in the U.S. and Canada
  • B2B experience involving technical products, with the ability to understand and articulate technical concepts
  • Ability to support proposal development and strategic alignment for new business initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and sustaining long-term relationships
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with occasional travel required
