## About the Role The Business Development Manager, Tax & Regulatory, will play a critical role in driving growth across the tax and regulatory market for LexisNexis Risk Solutions. This senior leadership position requires a deep understanding of state tax operations, regulatory frameworks, and public-sector procurement. As a former tax agency executive, the ideal candidate will bring firsthand experience and credibility to engage agency executives, shape solution strategy, and expand the company's impact across state and multi-state tax programs. The role entails developing and executing business development strategies for state and multi-state tax and regulatory agencies, identifying high-value opportunities, and advancing these opportunities through executive engagement and thought leadership. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is passionate about delivering solutions that drive insights from complex data sets, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing investigations. As a key member of the Government vertical team, the Business Development Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, legal, government affairs, and delivery teams, to align solutions with agency mandates and influence product roadmaps. ## What You Will Do - Lead business development strategy for state and multi-state tax and regulatory agencies - Identify and advance high-value opportunities aligned to tax compliance, audit, fraud prevention, identity resolution, and regulatory analytics - Develop long-term account strategies that expand LexisNexis Risk Solutions' footprint across agencies and programs - Engage Commissioners, CIOs, CFOs, Deputy Directors, and senior tax officials as a trusted advisor - Translate legislative, compliance, and operational pressures into outcome-driven, data-enabled solutions - Represent LexisNexis Risk Solutions in executive briefings, agency strategy sessions, and national tax forums - Monitor federal and state tax policy, regulatory changes, and enforcement priorities - Partner with product, legal, government affairs, and delivery teams to align solutions with agency mandates - Influence product roadmaps using direct insight from agency leadership experience - Lead sophisticated public-sector procurement cycles, including RFPs, amendments, renewals, and cooperative purchasing vehicles - Shape value propositions, ROI narratives, and executive-level business cases - Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and revenue plans within assigned territory ## What We Are Looking For - 5+ years of service as a Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, or equivalent senior executive within a State Revenue, Taxation, or Treasury Agency - Demonstrated leadership responsibility for tax administration functions such as compliance and enforcement, audit and investigations, revenue collection and integrity, taxpayer services, or systems modernization - Deep knowledge of state tax operations, regulatory frameworks, and public-sector procurement - Executive presence with the ability to influence senior government stakeholders - BA, BS, MBA, MPA, JD, or CPA preferred - Credible peer-to-peer engagement with agency executives - Consultative, outcome-driven selling - Policy-informed solution development - Strategic account planning and deal orchestration - Mission-driven public-sector leadership mindset ## Nice to Have - Prior collaboration with data, analytics, or technology solution providers - Experience with multi-state initiatives, federal-state tax coordination, or national associations (e.g., FTA, MTC) - Understanding of identity verification, fraud analytics, entity resolution, or tax-focused data platforms ## Benefits and Perks - Competitive salary and benefits package - Opportunities for professional growth and development - Collaborative and dynamic work environment - Flexible remote work arrangements - Access to cutting-edge technology and tools - Recognition and reward for outstanding performance - Comprehensive health insurance and wellness programs - Generous PTO and holiday package - Retirement savings plan with company match
