Job Description

About the Role

The Business Development Manager for Training & Certification at Stripe is a high-energy, strategic role that will serve as a bridge between the company's learning offerings and the users who need them to scale their businesses. As a key member of the Training & Certification team, you will be responsible for driving learner acquisition and ecosystem proficiency, with a focus on empowering millions of users across the globe to become passionate Stripe evangelists. The team's vision is to provide structured, standardized learning paths that foster a community of skilled, trusted professionals who can launch new projects, accelerate activation rates, and drive increased revenue for Stripe.

The role entails working closely with the sales pipeline to ensure that every major opportunity or implementation includes a robust training plan. You will also be responsible for driving the adoption of Stripe's training certification programs, with a focus on hitting quarterly targets for certified learners and active platform users. Additionally, you will build and scale a Stripe Training & Certification Champions program, identifying power users who have leveraged Stripe training to transform their businesses and turning them into vocal advocates and case studies.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and attach T&C offerings to viable Stripe user opportunities
  • Analyze the sales pipeline to ensure that every major opportunity or implementation includes a robust training plan
  • Drive the adoption of Stripe's training certification programs, with a focus on hitting quarterly targets for certified learners and active platform users
  • Build and scale a Stripe Training & Certification Champions program
  • Directly engage with Stripe's largest Enterprise accounts, conducting deep-dive sessions to evangelize the long-term ROI of a Stripe-certified workforce
  • Act as the primary internal advocate for T&C within Stripe, training Account Executives and Solutions Architects on how to position training as a must-have rather than a nice-to-have in every deal
  • Develop and maintain a Training ROI Model to quantify the impact of Stripe's Training & Certification offerings
  • Partner with companion organizations such as Finance to demonstrate the value of trained organizations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and maximize impact

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and revenue through strategic partnerships and sales initiatives
  • Experience with GTM strategies and tactics
  • Strong understanding of the payment technology industry and the needs of Stripe's users
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive data-driven decision making
  • Experience with training and certification programs, preferably in the tech industry
  • Familiarity with sales pipeline management and CRM systems

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Stripe's products and services
  • Familiarity with the ed-tech industry and online learning platforms
  • Certification in sales, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product
