About the Role
The Business Development & Partnerships Partner role at Datavent represents a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to leverage their network and skills to drive revenue growth. As an independent contractor working on a revenue-share basis, you will be responsible for originating new consulting projects across data engineering, analytics, BI, DWH, AI, and GenAI. This role is about building on existing relationships and creating new ones to open doors for Datavent's engineering and technical teams. Your success will be directly tied to your ability to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, making this a highly rewarding position for the right candidate.Given the nature of the work, a strong understanding of the tech industry, particularly in areas related to AWS and Anthropic, is crucial. Your role will involve collaborating closely with Datavent's technical team to ensure that the solutions proposed meet the needs of potential clients, requiring a balanced mix of technical acumen and business savvy.
What You Will Do
- Originate new consulting projects across a range of technologies including data engineering, analytics, BI, DWH, AI, and GenAI.
- Connect directly with clients, partners, and executive decision-makers in your network to identify potential opportunities.
- Own the commercial relationship from introduction to signed deal, ensuring smooth transitions and high client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Datavent's technical team during discovery, solution shaping, and proposal development to tailor solutions to client needs.
- Build and maintain a strong network within the data, AI, analytics, or cloud ecosystem to expand Datavent's reach.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements that are beneficial to both Datavent and its clients.
- Continuously update your knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and new technologies to stay ahead in the market.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients and projects, ensuring a consistent flow of new opportunities.
- Work closely with the delivery team to ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard and that client expectations are met or exceeded.
What We Are Looking For
- A proven track record of generating consulting or professional services revenue, preferably within the tech industry.
- An established network and the ability to open doors with clients, partners, and decision-makers within the data, AI, analytics, or cloud ecosystem.
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.
- Experience working with an AWS Partner, AI consultancy, data consultancy, systems integrator, or technology consulting company.
- Familiarity with AWS co-sell, AWS Partner motions, or the Anthropic ecosystem.
- A strong understanding of the sales process, from initial contact to closing the deal.
- Ability to work independently as an independent contractor, managing your time and priorities effectively.
- Experience selling Data Engineering, Analytics, BI, DWH, AI, GenAI, or automation projects.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a similar business development role within the tech industry.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.
- Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
