About the Role
The Business Development Representative role at Plaid is a critical position that involves driving sales and growth in the Banking & Wealth segment. As a key member of the Plaid GTM Team, you will support several Account Executives in hunting new business within the Banking & Wealth verticals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include identifying prospects, building pipelines, and driving engagement with decision-makers in digital banking, wealth management, and brokerage operations.You will be working closely with the Marketing team to provide feedback on B&W-specific campaigns and designing new outbound efforts. Your deep understanding of the financial services industry and technical products will enable you to evangelize Plaid's value proposition and assess buying interest from traditional and modern financial institutions alike.

What You Will Do
- Act as a key member of the Plaid GTM Team, supporting several Account Executives hunting new business within the Banking & Wealth verticals
- Liaise with Marketing to provide feedback on B&W-specific campaigns and design new outbound efforts
- Identify prospects and build pipelines through outbound campaigns targeted at decision-makers in digital banking, wealth management, and brokerage operations
- Help new clients get started with Plaid and answer questions about our products, specifically around account funding, investment data, and open banking connectivity
- Identify the most promising sub-verticals to help drive increased revenue opportunity
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Plaid's products and services
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and identify opportunities for growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes
- Provide feedback and insights to the Sales and Marketing teams
What We Are Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in pipeline development and/or sales (preferably at a SaaS or Fintech company)
- Strong understanding of the financial services industry and technical products
- Ability to evangelize Plaid's value proposition and assess buying interest from traditional and modern financial institutions alike
- Proficiency in using Salesforce.com or other CRM
- Experience working with customers and explaining technical products
- Strong interest in the financial services industry, market trends, and technical products
- High degree of intellectual curiosity
- Excitement to work in a high-growth environment and help build processes and tools as needed
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a fintech company
- Knowledge of digital banking, wealth management, and brokerage operations
- Familiarity with Plaid's APIs (specifically our Investments, Auth, and Identity products)
- Previous experience with outbound sales and prospecting
