About the Role
The Business Development Representative, Commercial, plays a pivotal role in Fivetran's growth strategy, focusing on breaking into new business accounts and generating high-quality pipeline momentum. This position is integral to the company's success, requiring a deep understanding of the sales process, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work closely with the Account Executives, Marketing, and Partner teams. Based remotely out of Japan, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Fivetran's mission to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity.As part of the Marketing organization but working in close collaboration with the GTM Sales Org, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying key decision makers, mapping large enterprise or commercial accounts, and generating meetings across all levels within Fortune 100 companies. This role is a key strategic position that requires a proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on hitting new logo acquisition targets.

What You Will Do
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business objectives, focusing on new logo acquisition.
- Conduct thorough research to identify key decision makers within target accounts and build meaningful relationships.
- Utilize outbound calling, video prospecting, and other creative strategies to initiate high-quality conversations with potential clients.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure seamless handovers of qualified leads and contribute to the development of account plans.
- Craft compelling messaging and Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) that align with Fivetran's value proposition and resonate with potential customers.
- Leverage Salesforce and other sales tools to track progress, analyze sales performance, and identify areas for improvement.
- Engage with the Marketing team to optimize marketing campaigns and ensure alignment with sales strategies.
- Provide regular feedback to the sales and marketing teams on market trends, customer needs, and competitive insights.
- Participate in sales strategy sessions to contribute to the continuous improvement of the sales process.
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the technology or software industry.
- Proven track record of success in hunting and closing new business, with a strong understanding of the sales process.
- Experience with Salesforce and other sales tools, with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with decision makers at all levels.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming sales obstacles.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining close collaboration with the team.
- Fluency in English, with Japanese language skills being a significant plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with data integration or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of the APAC market and its unique challenges and opportunities.
- Certification in sales or a related field, such as Salesforce administration.
- Experience with Outreach.io, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar sales prospecting tools.
