About the Role
The Business Development Representative role at Fortanix is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering company in the data-centric cybersecurity space. As a key member of the business development team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth through outbound prospecting, lead generation, and meeting scheduling. Your day-to-day activities will involve making strategic calls to target accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with the sales team to close deals. What You Will Do
- Generate new sales leads through a combination of outbound phone and email prospecting, as well as following up on marketing campaigns and inbound inquiries
- Schedule meetings and product demos for Account Executives
- Manage the inbound leads process to maximize conversion and pipeline development
- Understand Fortanix use cases and competitive positioning to effectively communicate and apply them to a prospect’s needs
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information in HubSpot
- Achieve and exceed monthly quotas and objectives
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategic sales plans
- Conduct research to identify potential customers and decision-makers
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the company’s products and services
- Provide feedback to the sales and marketing teams on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs
What We Are Looking For
- 1-3 years of BDR experience selling technology solutions to enterprise buyers, with a focus on cloud/SaaS/IT infrastructure
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Excellent written, verbal, and phone skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information
- Strong understanding of the sales process, including prospecting, lead generation, and closing deals
- Experience with HubSpot and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
- Tenacious and ambitious, with a strong work ethic and passion for selling technology
- Disciplined and process-oriented, with the ability to take a systematic approach to selling
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or relevant experience
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity industry, including trends, challenges, and solutions
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a startup environment, with a focus on innovation and growth
- Knowledge of data security and cloud computing, including emerging trends and technologies
- Certification in sales, marketing, or a related field
- Experience with other sales and marketing tools, such as CRM software or marketing automation platforms
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools and techniques, including sales scripts and objection handling
