About the Role
The Business Development Representative role at OpenAI is a strategic position designed to drive the adoption of AI solutions across the EMEA region. As a key member of the Enterprise Go-To-Market organization, you will work closely with Account Directors to identify, shape, and advance complex enterprise opportunities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve partnering with cross-functional teams to develop and execute targeted outbound strategies, leading high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities, and contributing to pipeline reviews.The role is based in OpenAI's Dublin, Ireland office, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week. Relocation assistance is available for new employees. This position is an excellent launchpad for future sellers at OpenAI, offering significant exposure to enterprise sales, product, and customer strategy.
OpenAI's Enterprise Go-To-Market organization helps the world's largest companies adopt and scale the AI platform across their business. The team partners with organizations across Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail to build new AI-powered customer experiences, transform operations, and reimagine how work gets done in highly regulated and technically complex environments.
What You Will Do
- Partner with Account Directors on account strategy, multi-threading, and deal progression
- Design and execute targeted outbound strategies using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and product signal to break into priority accounts
- Lead high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities, map stakeholders, and assess enterprise readiness
- Contribute to pipeline reviews by sharing outbound activity, account insights, and early competitive signals
- Build and iterate on AI-enabled GTM workflows (GPTs/agents) to scale prospecting and qualification
- Identify, shape, and advance complex enterprise opportunities by turning product usage, pilots, and inbound demand into qualified, high-conviction enterprise opportunities
- Develop core skills in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal shaping, and executive communication
- Build a deep understanding of how leading companies adopt AI and drive business growth through AI-powered solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute account plans
- Provide feedback and insights to the product and engineering teams to improve the AI platform
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales, or in strategic customer-facing roles in the finance or consulting industry
- A track record of consistently hitting and exceeding ambitious targets in enterprise or strategic sales environments
- Experience selling into regulated or complex industries (Financial Services, Life Sciences, Retail)
- Strong communication skills and executive presence; able to build credibility with senior C-Suite stakeholders across an organization, and speak fluently with technical buyers
- Strong interest in the AI landscape with the ability to connect OpenAI products to real customer value and business outcomes
- Fluency in French
- Strong interest in evangelizing new technology and helping the market understand what’s possible
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ownership
