About the Role

The Business Development Representative role at OpenAI is a critical position that drives the adoption of AI solutions among large enterprises. As a key member of the Enterprise Go-To-Market team, you will identify, shape, and advance complex enterprise opportunities, turning product usage and pilots into qualified, high-conviction enterprise opportunities. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include partnering with Account Directors, designing and executing targeted outbound strategies, and leading high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities and assess enterprise readiness.

The Enterprise Go-To-Market organization at OpenAI is dedicated to helping the world's largest companies adopt and scale the AI platform across their business. This team is at the forefront of driving AI adoption and works closely with organizations across various industries, including Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail. As a Business Development Representative, you will play a vital role in this effort, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive growth and expansion.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with Account Directors on account strategy, multi-threading, and deal progression
  • Design and execute targeted outbound strategies using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and product signal to break into priority accounts
  • Lead high-quality discovery to uncover business priorities, map stakeholders, and assess enterprise readiness
  • Contribute to pipeline reviews by sharing outbound activity, account insights, and early competitive signals
  • Build and iterate on AI-enabled GTM workflows to scale prospecting and qualification
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product, to drive growth and expansion
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the AI landscape and the company's products and services
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry knowledge and sales expertise
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute account plans and strategies

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in enterprise sales or strategic customer-facing roles
  • Strong understanding of the AI landscape and the ability to communicate the value of AI solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop insights
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the sales process
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product
