About the Role
The Business Intelligence Analyst role at Brown & Brown Insurance is a critical part of the company's National Pharmacy Team, which comprises over 200 professionals from various disciplines. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for leveraging data analytics to drive business solutions and optimize pharmaceutical transactions. Your work will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, including clients, account representatives, and clinical team members, to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions.The National Pharmacy Team is organized into three distinct pillars: Pharmacy Consulting and Analytics, Auditing, and PillarRx Copay Maximization. As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects, develop custom data models and algorithms, and create data visualizations to support user stories and drive actionable insights.
What You Will Do
- Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
- Analyze and synthesize data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques, and business strategies
- Develop custom data models and algorithms and create data visualizations to support user stories and drive actionable insights
- Drive discussions on data and insights, context, and implications with business and technology partners
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements and best practices, such as automation of manual processes and optimization of data models
- Implement observability tools to track data quality, users, and performance and enable strategic planning of product enhancements and process improvements
- Perform root cause analysis on logic changes and bug identification to identify opportunities for product improvement
- Create and maintain product-related documentation, such as project plans and business and technical requirement documents
- Communicate technical specifications to ensure that proper and optimized techniques, queries, and final deliverables are understood and incorporated into data and analytics processes
- Comply with and adhere to all regulatory compliance areas, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA requirements
What We Are Looking For
- B.S. in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a similar field
- 5+ years of relevant working experience in the data analytics field
- Proficiency in Tableau, Qlik, or similar data visualization and analytics tools
- Working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases and query authoring
- In-depth understanding of relevant data analytics best practices and expertise with tools needed to debug and diagnose issues
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change in direction and priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with data modeling and data warehousing
Nice to Have
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices
- Certification in data analytics or a related field
