About the Role

As a Business Operations & Strategy Associate at Alternative Payments, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and success. You will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and other key stakeholders to analyze complex business problems, develop strategic recommendations, and implement process improvements. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, leveraging AI and automation tools, and preparing regular reports to communicate insights to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, with experience in investment banking, private equity, or financial services. You will be a highly motivated and proactive individual with a bias for action, a sense of urgency, and excellent problem-solving skills. Your ability to work independently, handle multiple competing projects, and communicate effectively with stakeholders will be essential to your success in this role.

What You Will Do

  • Work cross-functionally to execute high-impact projects and implement new processes to scale operations
  • Serve as a strategic partner to identify issues, build models, and analyze data to make recommendations for improving financial and operational decision-making
  • Leverage AI and automation to accelerate execution, including Claude Code, Cursor, and custom-built MCPs
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Support the leadership team in executing operational and strategic initiatives
  • Monitor, manage, and report on payment activity to create operating efficiency, optimize costs, and mitigate risks
  • Support the sales and customer success teams with complex challenges
  • Identify inefficiencies across the organization and improve processes and/or create automations to eliminate them

What We Are Looking For

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in investment banking, private equity, or financial services
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking, and quantitative skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of AI, prompting, key use cases, and an affinity to learn about integrating AI into daily workflows
  • Ability to execute in ambiguous, fast-paced environments under tight and unpredictable timelines
  • High sense of urgency, a bias for action, and a strong work ethic
  • Rigorous attention to detail and ability to handle multiple competing projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organization

Nice to Have

  • Experience working at a high-growth startup in the fintech space
  • At least 2 years of experience in investment banking
  • Experience leveraging Claude Code or similar AI applications
  • Computer science coursework or training

    50,000 - $200,000, including equity
